Apartment made from Paper

Pottery Fashion

There is a Beijing artist by the name of Li Xiaofeng who has fashioned clothing from ancient ceramics. The project includes a suit jacket and tie as well as a number of mid-length women’s dresses. The ceramic shards are pieces of the Song, Ming, Yuan and Qing dynasties. It’s not wearable. But it’s art.

For the exposition 140 Hits in Art, 140 artists were asked to redesign the sleeve of their favourite song. Woes van Haaften chose ‘Tour de France’, a track by Kraftwerk. In his design, he trimmed the artwork of the original sleeve down to the bare essentials, rendering instant recognition. Have a look.
